Hi folks. Finally getting to some updates here. We finished a few new (some old!) projects over the last few months. Chris MacKay and The ToneShifters released “Picture On A Fridge” a few months back. Some cool guests featured were nashville super picker Johnny Hiland on guitar on the title track, and Eddie Lonardo on drums, also on the title track.
John Zachos finished his second cd (ep actually), “Dragonfly” recently. This one follows his last with the same great variety of styles, and great subject matter. Also had some great players on this one. Eddie Lonardo on drums, Chris Worden on cello, Max Barbie on drums and percussion, and John’s daughter, Demaris Zachos on background vocals.
The Meadows Brothers released their self-titled debut cd a few weeks back. These guys have grown tremendously from their earlier rock style, into a great folk/Americana style that we all love around here. True talent in these two young guys. We had a great time with this one.
We also had the Irish band “Clan O’Cleary” just finished doing 14 great traditional and original tunes for their new disc, due out soon. This five piece band really mixes up the instrumentation, and keeps the energy up. while keeping a real traditional sound.
A VERY heavy metal cd from a the young band “Mental Metal” was also finished up a few months ago, and should be out soon.
The “Artist Page” her should be updated with info and sample of these new projects within the week, so check back and check them out. Thanks, DLR.Leave a comment

Chris McKay and The Tone Shifters have tracked ten tunes in the past few weeks. A few percussion and vocal tracks to finish up and then on to mixing. (Maybe a sax track to sneak in.)
Finished John Zachos’s project up last week. Cd’s should be ready soon.
Again, we are hoping to be able to update the artists page this week. Please stop back and check it out. We have had The Meadows Brothers, John Zachos, Silent Protest, The Tone Shifters, The Wolf Blitzer Band, and a few other interesting artists in the studio, and will have info and samples of their tunes soon.
That’s it for now. Happy holidays.Leave a comment

The Tone Shifters were in last Tuesday. Had a great day getting their project started. Looking forward to working up vocal and percussion arrangements this week. Also, John Zachos was in on Sunday, adding to his tunes. He will be in this Sunday with his daughter to sing some vocal backups, and a trumpet player to add to this cool instrumental he came up with in the studio. Continue reading →Leave a comment

Hello. Welcome to Deer Lane Recording’s news page. Here we will keep you posted as to what is going on in the studio as far as who is here recording, new gear being added, and general news about the studio. Currently there are four projects in being worked on here, each at different stages. Ian Meadows and The Mob Connection have tracked 5 tunes, one of which is already mixed and mastered. A cool video was also shot here for the tune “Queen Of Spades”. Check it out on their Reverb Nation page. We will be mixing the rest of their tunes this week.
